Stand Up to Cancer and St. Baldrick’s have come together to fund the development of a new pediatric cancer dream team to pursue ground-breaking research.  After a detailed selection process, it was announced yesterday that Dr. J. Maris from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and Dr. C.L. Mackall from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) will lead the new dream team.  Their work will bring together the two fields of immunotherapy and genetics, and pursue a project titled – “Immunogenomics to Create New Therapies for High-Risk Childhood Cancers”.

This is the first pediatric cancer dream team to be formed with Stand Up to Cancer.  You can read more about the immunogenetics project on the Stand Up to Cancer website. Their goal is to begin work in July 2013, and open drug trials within the first year.
